Diabetes, which is the sixth leading cause of death for people in the United States, is a metabolic disease that affects a person’s blood sugar levels. This is either because their body cannot produce a sufficient amount of insulin or their cells do not react correctly to the insulin that is made.

Understanding how to recognize the signs and symptoms of diabetes can help you to save your own life or the life of somebody that you love. This disease is extremely serious and the sooner that it is detected, the sooner it can be treated, putting the person who has it far out of harm’s way.
